Default Life time fluid?
The life of what? The transmission? Yours? Well yes, any fluid will last until the transmission fails. Fluid failure is a likely cause of hard part failure. I don't think any fluid can keep bonded rubber parts from failure.

But to get wear related particles out of a mechanical assembly, It's hard to beat a fluid/filter change!

Too true, good advice. "Lifetime" in this case is usually pretty short ;-)
