OT, another sport/luxury sedan question, Jaguar XJR
Has anyone here ever owned one of these things?
V8 factory supercharged 387hp is awefully tempting for $20,000 even though there's no AWD.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31848&item =4529350174&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW">Jaguar : XJR Sport</a></li></ul>

Things to consider....
Jaguar used to be notorious for all kinds of technical problems---electrical gremlins, more than anything else.
In the last couple of years (under Ford), they have improved quality of manufacturing tremendously!
The XJR is a great machine. However, if I were to buy a Jaguar, I'd purchase a recent example (2004+)--of course not at $21K :-)
Reasons to buy into the newer models?
-- aluminium frame
-- increased space in the rear (the previous generation was very tight in the back)
-- improved QC
-- still an elegant design (many people find it too old-fashioned and stale, I find it elegant and classic)
-- great suspension setup (among the best around)
Some people would claim (these days) that they're just Fords. That's as short-sighted as saying that Lexus are Toyotas (or Audis are VWs?)
Good luck with your search.

Re: Things to consider....
Things may have improved with "Ford" but the looks and price shure havnt. Do you think there is a problem with purchasing a 50k Jaguar for $20-25K?
Maybe just to drive on Sundays =-D
And the A8 in the snowy Fargo winters.
