Rear Window Defrost
Hey guys,
It is starting to get cold here in Utah and I will be needing my Rear Defrost soon. It hasn't worked since I bought the car and I don't really know why. Doesn't anyone have the Bentley procedures for testing it. The light doesn't come on on the switch when pressed so I am guessing the problem originates there. Do I have to remove the whole console to test the switch? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Try the fuse box
I bought mine during the Winter and just accepted the fact that it didn't work. During the next year I had other problems and had to go through the fuses and that's all it was. I don't have the manual in front of me right now or I could tell you which row and amperage it was. Good luck.

YGM
I thought mine was also malfunctioning, but didn't realize that the A8 isn't like "most vehicles" (surprise!) and that there is actually some computer control for the defroster. I'll send you an excerpt from the Bentley manual for you to mull over.
