the left tie rod was apparently frozen so it got replaced. I wonder how the previous shop was able to make any adjustments?
$400 parts & labor and my extended warranty company is paying for $300 of it, but I'm still going to need new tires after wearing to inside cord.

Except for the sneakers, inexpensive resolution given warranty coverage. Gotsta love...
the "previous shop's" attention to detail. What are you gonna shoe her in Jim?

Not sure about the new rubber - I'm not in a hurry so I'll check around for deals.
Winter wheels and snow tires will go on in the next week or so - back to OEM rims for the snow!

Glad you got that figured out.
I just replaced both my tie rod ends this afternoon. It wasn't bad getting the old out and the new in, but trying to make adjustments. Getting that steering wheel straight was a PITA. It was so bad at one point that when I let my hands off the wheel, the car did a U-turn. Okay, maybe I'm exagerating a little bit. ;-)
Anyhow, now I have to do the alignment thing too.
