I have a '97 and it has the 6 disk changer. Personally I think the system sounds fine but it does have one flaw which I am having the dealer look into. There is a high frequency whine coming from the front right speaker when the inginition switch is in the on position so perhaps a noise filter to go between the power supply (the cars' 12 VDC system)and the tuner, amp and disk changer would be a good upgrade. I suppose a more powerful amp would be the next thing (for this model year anyway) provided it did not take any Bose proprietary processing, such as eq. specific to the speakers/car cabin, out of the signal path. However, if replacing the amp means loosing the processing then you might as well look at replacing the amp, the speakers and putting some sort of eq. on the system and why not throw in some sort of DSP while you're at it. Not that I would do any of this myself, but that is what I think would be the typical pecking order.
