Tip: solution for infamous brakelight-warning after front brakepad change
It can happen that after you change front-pads, the brake-wear warninglight can come on for no apparent reason.
Often there is a problem with a pin from the new pads somewhere does not make full contact (or sometimes loses it shortly after a bump in the road).
The trick is simple: take a pair of nose-pliers and very slightly bend the two pins inside the pads plug. Then plug it in.
This guarantees that the four pins (two per side) will make permanent contact with the metal sidewall of the female-connector.
Simple but effective :-)

Funny you mention this. I had my front and rea brakes replaced at a dealership in Oregon. When I arrived back in Seattle, the warning came up. I took it in there, and they recommended a full electrical sensor overhaul. I told them to stick, and the problem went away on its on 2 days later. Glad to know that's all it is in the future!
