Default Transmission service @50k, Dealer wants $495.00 too high?

Sounds high to me? Anybody know a shop in Raleigh that
could handle this?

Default Tranny flush and filter change? Yes!

You should be looking about $250 at an Audi dealer, max.

Default That is a total over charge!

It's 1.5 hours to do the transmission filter change, that's $150 labor @ $100/hr.

$214 for parts sounds like $80 for the filter, plus something like $22/qt, six quarts of oil.

They must of dropped your exhaust if they did that, but you don't have to (now we know).

Default I stopped at Sears today and got one of those tools - actually,

I got the "special tool" set at Sears that's got three of those tools, a flat one, the one with the handle angled up, and the one with the handle angled down. Already have Torx bits to use in it.

I plan on doing mine shortly, perhaps this month.

The Audi Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois just quoted me $300 total, $150 for labor @ $100/hr, plus $150 for parts.

I guess you need to shop around.

Had mine done in December at Carousel in Minneapolis at 50K. Here is the breakdown: labor @$95/hr was $237, 1 Gasket for $24.34, 1 Gasket for $5.35, Oil Strain for $49.75, ATF fluid 5qts at 14.05/qt for $70.25. Shop Charge of $23.75. Total without tax = $410.44
