is the trans in the S8 different from the stock A8 trans?, been reading posts about directional transmissions... the ones that go south, seems i read somewhere that the S8 is reworked to compensate for extra hp...? still looking for my S8... pearl white with brown or amaretto would be the best, or maybe henna leather? had a 500 sec euro that was white with 'henna' leather, at first i didn't like it but it became the fav, just a thought, not many S8s out there, tia, kk

just saw post below... not a black one, or silver, i live in germany and 99% of cars period are black or silver... used to like both those colors too...

The rebuilt kit is the same too. The difference is the final drive in the transmission. The front intermediate drive is 1.207 (A8 1.000), front final drive is 3.091 (A8 2.909), the rear intermediate drive is 0.906 (A8 0.784), rear final drive is 4.111 (A8 3.7).

thanks, so if the rebuild kit is the same, they may be the same...and the euro cars? think they have different gear ratios as well? maybe geared differently for the autobahn, higher top end with lower rpm's?, hmmmmm
