99A8Q transmission failure
Help, please! My tranny quite working at 71K and the dealer wants $9K for a replacement. Can a used transmission be trusted, or are remanufactured ones from either Phoenix or ZF a better bet? What should I expect to pay for installation from a qualified mechanic if I purchase the transmission independently? Thnks!

Rebuilt one from European Transmissions in Cumming, GA?
One of the guys on the board got one, was initially happy with it. Don't know if we've had a follow-up report. I think it was around $4k all-up. I'd expect around $1000 for labor.
