Will the next 8 and 6 series share a common platform?

But VW D1, actually called Phaeton, IS allready launched...
They started production late last year. One of the first (if not THE first) was handed over to Bundeskansler (senator) something when he officially opened the plant. Was on TV and all.

Re: Don't know why they are waiting. Car is supposed to be ready.
Guess you are right (as ususal :-) ), April. For some strange reason, it seems like the VW Phaeton will be "officially launched" at the Geneva show. Even thought they sort of launched it when the new Dresden plant was opened in December.
If this is the case, I doubt they will unveil the new A8 at the Geneva show. They probably don't want it to take the focus away from the Phaeton, and probably keep it a secret for some months after the show as well.
So the next possibility will be the Paris show in september. Would make sense, the car is said to be in the showrooms by november. Ok, I better save some vacation till september then! :-)
