06 A8 - 10,000 mile update
Well, the 06 has just passed the 10k mark.
So far, other than the recall for the passenger airbag wiring harness, the car is absolutely flawless. Though tight for the first 3,000 miles or so, the car has loosened up and is now a delight to drive. The paddle shifters make a fun change on those boring journeys, or are just plain fun when you want a spirited drive on twisting roads - yes there are some in Illinois!
Reliability has been a vast improvement over the 05. In the same period I had problems with the MMI, trunk hinges, interior trim, window operation, high level brake light and center armrests in the 05.
Of course the car has the ventillated massage seats that ease those journeys, the new lighting system which adjusts to steering position, bluetooth (fantastic!), power door close (a touch of luxury) and the sports suspension which makes the big car feel small on the road. Build quality feels better than on the 05 and the leather - there is more of it - softer and more comfortable
The new big grill does have at least one definite advantage - people get out of your way.
20k will probably arrive by July!

I guess I need to drive more! 13K miles after first year...
only problem I have had is the trunk hinges which were replaced along with the trunk closing motor. Time to take off the snow tires and put my 20s back on.
