99.9p a litre !
Saw the highest fuel price yesterday and had no choice but to swallow it, was running low.
It appears that it might be difficult for the pumps to handle over £1 a litre, i expect there will be a lot of software upgrades taking place on the pumps in the next few weeks.
So thats £90 it just cost me to fill the tank, for those of you in the US thats $165 USD.

I am in Switzerland right now and Diesel for the rental car is CHF 1.785/l. With the plummeting dollar that works out to about USD 5.61/gal and is considered normal; i.e. not gouging.

Just filled my car up from empty yesterday, $3.49/gallon, $69.00 total
I think it was more than that to fill up when I was in Italy a few years ago in the Golf that I rented, which had a tank about 1/2 the size of the A8.

I assume you mean it was cheaper to fill your car in the US ? Rather than Italy being more expensive than the UK ?
I can't imagine there is anywhere more expensive than here !
