A8 eating battery
I replaced the battery, and now again same problem, pre-heater won't occasonally go on, because of the battery being off charge.
Sometimes the heater will work, even if the car is unused for weeks, sometimes it only takes overnight to stop working.
The battery control unit always gives 4 faultcodes:
Static current stage2 -static
Static current stage3 -static
Static current stage4 -static
Static current stage5 -static
I assume the control unit shuts off power from certain other control units to protect against draining the battery, because i get "power missing from connector 30" = +12v from the door control units and the pre-heater and also other control units, and sometimes even the trunk lid doesn't want to open itself.
Any ideas?
The battery is a 95Ah 800A AGM battery, so it shoudln't bee poor quality at least (couldn't find 110Ah AGM:s with correct terminals).
Mine had similar problems, changing the battery did not solve the problem.
I discovered some leaking current in parking aid system. Module software upgrade usually cures the trouble. Sometimes that kind of leaking problems may be linked to radio module but it is always cheaper to start with the soft upgrade. First thing i suggest do the leaking current test your car in the sleep-mode.
How do i get the car in "sleep mode", or does it just mean that i take the keys out from the ignition?
And how do you measure leaking current, just by putting an ammeter between the battery terminal and the cable, and start pulling fuses, untill the current flow stops?
Had the car lying today overnight for about 12-13hours, after several hours of driving, and the battery meter was again at 10%. Last night it was lying for about 17hours, and 100% at that time...
Should i try to remove the parking-aid fuse to start with over night?

Have you by chance got a TSB (Technical service bulletin) number for the park-aid problem?
I'd need that to do the software update (i've got all the SW tools, but have a huge problem finding TSB numbers, i'll find them, but it will take hours of work)

It makes sense to remove fuses only after 10 - 15 minutes after locking the car. By that time consumption should be minimal, systems will shut down successively.
When removing any fuse you may easily to "wake up" some moduls of the car. For an objective result there may be necessary to wait again until proper shut down will take effect.
And if after 10 - 15 minutes car "sleeps" properly and there is no significant electric consumption then removing any fuses is useless.

Can you tell me how you can notice with vcds that a module is sleeping?
The fault was traced down to the comfort controle module, that had it's program probably jammed, and didn't shut down any functions at all, removing the battery cable or the voltage feed to the comfort control module and connecting again resolves the problem for a month or so.

In my case the problem was with headrest motor, i got a response from it even after the car was staying one hour without ignition in the garage.
PS. sorry for my English
