About to hit 100K
So, my car has about 93K miles, and its doing great and I want to keep it that way. I bought this car with no real maintenance history and it had 82K on it. I know it should have had the timing assembly done at 80k, do you think I should play it safe and have a full 80K service and 100K combo done? Could a good independent mech tell whether or not the full 80K service was done?
Anybody know a good place in Northern Virginia?

Yes, get it all done unless you are 500% positive it has been done.
Folks will tell you "look at _____ and why YES magically you know it's been done".
You don't know for sure without records.
Even if something looks newish many folks (including independents) take shortcuts.
Some people push the 75K service out into the 100's.
I don't think thats a good idea - changing the belt is cheap insurance.

You might be able to find if it was done by the water pump. Most guys would use aftermarket pump because it is three times cheaper. So if it is aftermarket than it was done.
But I would agree with Jake. It's good insurance to do it anyways. Not that expensive eater. Especially if you can do it yourself.
