Any interest in a catback performance exhaust for the A8 4.2 Litre engine?
I have worked with Magnex developing exhausts before on various other cars and have raised the issue about a centre decat pipe and twin backboxes retaining the same style single pipes on either side. The only difference being performance and noise!
Now is there any interest for a performance exhaust for a 4.2 Litre V8 at all?
The noise will be only under throttle and we would aim to retain the silence under cruise. Same characteristics as standard, just more noise and performance under WOT.
Combine this with a decent CAI and remap should provide very good results I would of thought.
So interest only, shipping anywhere isn't an issue. All exhausts would be stainless.
Thanks!

Re: I'm interested
Again not a major concern on the CAI, I know enough people.
ECU wise in the UK there are quite a few people who can custom map the car. Ottringer do a map too for it I think?

I've emailed just about everyone in the US
and can't get anyone interested in buildng an A8 ECU. I can't imagine it's any more difficult than the B6 S4 with a 4.2...but I could be wrong.
Some of the ECU mods are undetectable by the dealers...that would be a really nice thing to have.
I'm a little nervous about buying a custom exhaust without hearing it...I would want to make darn sure it was really only different at idle and under heavy acceleration. It has to pass the wife's smell test :-)

Re: I'd be more apt to wait on exhaust, or just find new tips and weld them on
Got you. No buying or money or anything at the moment just purely gauging interest. Once complete I will test fit to my car etc.
