Anybody running OEM 19s with spacers ?
I so far haven't found any aftermarket wheels that I like that much more than the 19" 12 spokes that came with the car, but I would like to push them a little further out with spacers...horrible idea or not so bad ? Anybody done this (and have pics ? )
I'm also going to VAG lower the car by 15/20mm BTW..
cheers

Re: Anybody running OEM 19s with spacers ?
I was running 10mm front and 15mm rear...filled the arches nicely without looking too pushed out. This was with the 2008 Sport 5 spoke wheels. 255/40/19 tyres...offset 42.
I am now running 22" wheels so have removed them.
I did try 15 front 20 rear...but i thought it was a bit too much.....i am in the UK and purchased TUV approved from Germany from SCC.

I run 20 mm rear spacers with 275/35 20 RS4 style OEM wheels with 46mm stock offset
Fills out rear fenders much better. No clearance issues. Suspect I could run 25mm with no problem if I could find a set that is sized the same as the hub diameter in 25mm. The H&R DRA's are, but only in 20 mm, not 25mm.
If I can run 20mm's on the 20's with 275 tires, I expect you can with even less of any issue on the 255's w/ 19's.
For reference I have mine VAG COM lowered about 10m in front and 15mm rear (gives most consistent wheel arch spacing look around the tires (both top and toward front and rear of each wheel well) that I could achieve with my stock 20" tire size.

Here is a link to a reader ride write up with 30mm rear spacers even

Yes. Yes. Yes.
I got 20mm on the rear and 10mm on the front, and they are fantastic. Those two sizes bring the wheels out _almost_ flush, but with a tiny space left which will protect your paint.
It is by far the best mod I did to the car (although the electrical tape mod to the amber airbag light comes a close second...)
You will be very happy - order these immediately.
