Hello All Wise and Powerful AW,

My backup camera on my 07 S8 seems to have stopped working. It was hit or miss when placed in reverse for about a week but now the past 3 days it doesn't work at all. The MMI screen just stays on whatever screen is up at the time. The rear sensors still work but not the camera.
I thought originally that the cold weather was the issue but we have had a couple of warmer days and still nothing.

Thoughts?
is there a specific module I can scan that would tell me with vagcom?

 

It's happened to me a few times in my S8. I found that pressing the parking button and/or shifting from park and back again made it work again

 

do a full scan and post the results

 

There is specific module, but it can be connection or camera or something else. VCDS scan should help.

 

Here is my scan: I cleared them and rescanned. All that came back was the navigation malfunction. I didn't drive the car around so tomorrow I'll see if the others come back.

in the trunk on the left side behind the MMI modules Access panel theres a small black box...





Check the connectors, then locate the fuse and check it.....

 

I was looking in right compartment of trunk for the RVC controller module but couldn't find it. Couldn't find it in the left either. Is it likely it was relocated for MY '09 A8?

 

On top of your nav DVD player ?

 

That's the Parking Assist Module, not the rear view camera control unit.

Supposed to be next to radio on the left side or left side in trunk behind seat.
