Battery coding-message- uninitialized control module warning
I'm trying to code the battery I put in 1 yr ago.First time using the VCDS for this purpose.I have only used it for scans.
I wasn't sure if it was safe to do it since I got this message .
There is no need to code battery year after you installed it. Coding it right after replacement would say to the system that there is a new battery. Until now, actually much earlier, system found it out itself.
I did follow the instructions but I didn't know what to do when I saw that message.I was afraid to proceed so I still haven't done it.

That instruction is BS. You can use any battery (size meters), code it by changing a single digit, or not code it at all and nothing will happen. If you don't code it will take few hours for the module to figure out new battery.
