Biggest rim I can fit ? 04d3 a8

I run stock 9x20" 2x7 spoke rims on my 2008 W12 with 275/40R20. 275/35R20 would be better for both looks and feel, but those are not far off. I have "normal" air suspension, NOT SPORT. Speedo is like 2-3km/h off, so at 100km/h real speed the speedo shows 97-98km/h.
Friend with factory sport suspension ran 255/35R20 with 9x20" ATP rims, the Nankang tyres were total crap, hard as hell, was like a go-cart on the motorway at high speeds, but in the city totally horrible, 2 tyres destroyed in 3 years in potholes.
He then bought 275/35R20 for the same rims, and the feeling was like night and day, MUCH better city feel, not much off on the highway. Speedo is dead on correct with 275/35R20, just a tad under with 255/35R20 (like 100km/h real speed is like 102km/h on the speedo).
22" rims will defineatly fit, no problem, you just need to lower it to make it look decent. In my opinion for the looks stay at 20" IF you can't find very nice 22" rims. Gansta is just out on these cars.
The question is, that is all that rim worth sacrificing the joy of driving this car. With 20" rims the car is like a glove to drive, but I can assure you with badly fitting 22" it won't be as good. Surely some people will think it looks awesome with big rims.
I'd just go with factory 20" like mine with dual-tone colo(u)r for the sake of driving comfort and everything else in between.

If the Michigan roads were not so bad I'd get a set of 7 twin spoke 20" rims, but I've already ruined 2 19" tires on these roads in 4 months. Anything bigger doesn't look quite right on these cars but that's just me. I'm not a fan of mods on A8s, just seems like the wrong car for it.

Here is my 2008 S8 with 21" wheels.
The Audi wheels have 275's on them the "bling" wheels have 295's
Personally I wouldn't go any larger than 21's. The tire wall thickness gets too narrow and the ride suffers.

The rims in my second photo are for sale. They are a bit too "blingy" for me.
There were custom made for my S8 by the previous owner.
They are a 3-piece wheel by COR

22’s too big
[QUOTE=Chuckiecg;25383759]
I’m having the biggest issue with 22’s on my 05 A8 the car came with 22’s when I bought it with no originals rims. The car is shaking horribly. I thought it was a bad tire, So I got new tires 265/30/22 still shaking. 22’s is a no go for this car I don’t have the hubcentric but I don’t want to install all that just to ride smoothly so I’ll just be downgrading to 17-18 inch rims. It even tells you on the website that 20’s are the max size. The Ride is very uncomfortable, I haven’t even gotten to enjoy my car yet lol. It has low profile tires on it lol horrible 22’s what was this kid thinking lol
