Default Bless the nav system in these cars! My wife had to be taken to the hospital by ambulence at 2am...

...this past Saturday morning (she's home, and all is well). This happened at our weekend home and while I'm familiar with the general location of the hospital, navigating there in my head under the circumstances (freaked out of my mind, disoriented from little sleep and dark country roads) would have been a challenge I really wasn't up for. After the police and ambulence left (they wouldn't let me ride with her), I had to make sure our two cats were still in the house following all the commotion and traffic in/out of the house, I felt like the last person left on earth. Luckily, I remembered from reading the MMI manual about special destinations in the nav system. I entered that option and found my way to the selection for Southampton Hospital, and bingo (!), I was set, and the directions were spot-on. Made it w/o any problem, and thankfully was able to take my wife home several hours later.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but I just wanted to express my appreciation for having the navigation set-up. I've read some of the complaints about the system, but I was sure glad to have it and save my sanity at 2am on Saturday!

Oh yes, I haven't stopped hugging my wife, except when we're driving in the A8 :-)

Default Thanks, she's fine. We had a scare, but it turned out, thankfully, to be nothing serious. And..

...those two little furballs get hugged every day ;-D

Default Thank you! Funny, as we drove home from the hospital, her first question in the car was...

..."How's the Audi?" Gotta love the gal!!!

Default Glad to hear your wife is back home and that it is not serious!

I'm impressed that you are already using the advanced features of the Nav. I guess I need to get the manual out to familiarize myself with them too!

Default Good news that she is OK...

Brings back memories of similar circumstances of exactly 3 years ago this past week-end of my wifes accident. What a life changing event that was! It does bring life and loved ones into perspective.
