Brakes Covered on '05s?
I know that Audi changed things sometime around 2004-2006 about whether brakes were covered in the warranty. I have a 2005 and the back brakes are pulsing under hard braking. Should I bother with the dealer or do them on my own?
The car is CPO'd, if that matters. If they're NOT covered, what brake/rotor combinations have folks had success with? May as well do the fronts and paint the calipers while I'm at it.

It used to be
that if the rotors warped (as most Audis do for some reason) that they would cover them under warranty. It was that way on my '01 A6 4.2 and my '04 S4. I think they changed that in '05, which is what I was trying to dig up.

04 was the last year....Audi just decided to change in force policies...
even if you had an earlier model where it was covered under Audi Advantage, they got really tough to deal with. you had to argue fraud, then the dealer would do something....warpage was particularly bad on the A6s. the slamming on your brakes at 60 x5 doesn't do anything when the rotor is to small for the car to begin with.
