Default In sunlight, yes. The pearl really sparkles and almost looks very dark gray.
It's tough to see the difference in artificial light or with strong cloud cover

I've had both. Go with Phantom Black. It does almost sparkle.

Default brilliant black IF you have time to use proper wash techniques and wax it good.
BB shows swirls and any marks very easily. the reward however is deep wet looking paint that sparkles and glitter of phantom black cannot match, my account has some freshly waxed BB pics.
