Today my 2004 A8L door lock beep (close doors, press lock button, hear confirming beep) was missing. The doors lock but there is no audio feedback (I don't remember if there is supposed to be a visual feedback). The red alarm armed LED on the doors flash as usual. Anyone (1) ever had/fixed this issue and (2) know where, or if, there is a separate alarm tone module? I tried forum searching but I'm probably looking in all the wrong places. Any guidance is appreciated! Thanks.

I believe it is your alarm horn. Check if your alarm is working. Lock the car with window opened, live your key further from the car and open the door. Alarm should sound.

Alarm horn is in the right rear corner of the engine compartment, just below the windshield under the plenum. It has to be OE and it is expensive (for a horn). eBay ones are just as good as yours.
