Fuel pump problem?

Hello guys!!!
I got the exactly the same problem in Audi 80 Avant 1995 2.6 V6, engine ABC.
I was driving it normally when suddenly the engine stopped working. Is starts again but after 20 to 30 seconds it dies. I tried keep high revs but it didn't work, it dies anyway.
The fuel pump is new, I changed it almost 2 years ago but drove only 10k kilometers. When I had to changed it the car won't started at all.
I also changed ignition switch 3 months ago. It worked fine so far.
I've being looking on internet what might be, but this is the only case so far that is similar to mine, although in a different Audi.
Anyone here that knows the B4 plataform?

I just replaced the right fuel pump as preventive maintence. Here is what i purchased.
VW Fuel Tank Wrench T10202
Fuel pump - right. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...087h/ES387760/
Gasket x 2. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...33b/ES1831744/
Took about 2.5 hours. If i had to do it again, it would probably take 1.5 hours. The locking ring is probably the hardest thing to release. All the hoses came off with ease and feeding the hose from the right side to the left side was easier than I thought. Just be sure to label the hoses you take off, indicated by red release tab vs black.
Looks like a faulty engine speed sensor. On A8 it is on the bottom of transmission in the flywheel area. Probably same at other models.[/QUOTE
I checked the speed sensor with vag-com and it was reading within spec but of course when i checked it the car was starting fine.

Use service manual procedure to check. Also, a diagnostic scan with vag-com /Ross Tech software & interface should indicate the fault. If you don't test this way, I am unable to help.
I corrected a minor typo. Hopefully it makes sense now. Just use the proper diagnostic system and you should figure it out. Or, if that doesn't work; use standard automotive diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot.

For reference to help someone in the future...engine light in my 4.2 '07 A8L- see the original problem below:
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...-help-2881573/
I started at the rear should we say and moved forward. Pressure sensors, filters, both in tank pumps, G410 module, mass air sensor- the works! In the end the final possibility was replacing both high pressure fuel pumps -problem solved.
