Greetings from Finland!
Hey everyone!
I just got an Audi A8 ym 2006 and found these forums extremely helpful though I don't live in the US. So let me introduce my lovely car.
My A8 was brought from Germany because cars are cheaper and in better shape there. In Finland Audi A8 is very rare car because of its price (2013 Audi A8 costs about 200 000 dollars..)
Well I found this baby from Germany and bought it. This far I'm loving every mile (or kilometer) with my new car! It has a 4.2 TDI engine and the torque is huge. I'm planning on getting it chip tuned so the power would increase 74bhp and torque about 150nm. We'll see..
I guess you don't have too many diesel A8 owners on these forums haha.
Well here's a couple pics of her.

Thank you! Those are the original 20" rims. They are in bad shape and I need to get them painted etc. Last week I switched to winter tires and rims (18" A5 replicas). So before spring I'll get those wheels done and repaired. This car has about 160k miles/ 260k kilometers. It shouldn't be too bad for that huge diesel engine and it passed all inspections without any notices (service, professional checks etc).
The car was 19 000 dollars / 14 000 euros in Germany.
My winter wheels:

if that was a gasoline engine i would say the price is a bit on the high side, as compared to USA prices. But seeing as its europe and its a diesel, its an excellent price. A car like that, if it was available here would probably be around $22-24k. USA general public has a stick up their *** when it comes to diesel, charging premiums for diesel engine cars and diesel prices at the pump. It's slowly changing though...

By the way, do you have to pay any sort of import tax since the car came from germany? Or is that irrelevant since both germany and finland are both in the EU ?

Hey,
Yeah cars are kinda expensive here, at least compared to US prices. I had to pay import taxes, a lot of them.. around 12 000 dollars. So the overall price of the car was much higher than the price in Germany. Having a car like this in Finland is extremely expensive. And diesel costs almost 8 bucks a gallon.
