I'm sure one of you techy guys have a straight answer for this.

I sold my loved 2006 A8L W12 in the summer due to high mileage (246000km+), and now i'm planning on getting a 2008/09.

I've found a 3,0TDI with perfect options (ventilated+massage frontseats, AMI, and so on) but it doesn't have ACC.

I have a working ACC radar AND the cabling + control-arm to the steering column.

The question is, does the 2008-> cluster which always is "wide" support the ACC, or do i need to swap it?

mine is 2003, has ACC and has wide DIS, thats all I know as that's what I've got.

You might need a CAN gateway as well...

I know that, but those are supereasy to find, compared to a used CORRECT cluster.

The clusters have varying redline between gas-engines (V6/V8 gas has 6500rpm, W12 6200rpm and V10 7000rpm + V10 has 300km/h speedo isntead of 280km/h) and of course diesels have different revcounter than gas engines.

Gateways there are only like 5-6 models ending A,B,E,F,G,H.

Pre-facelift Instrument clusters are ATLEAST 16 variations and facelift 8:

Pre-facelift 2003-2006
V6/V8 km/h gas without widescreen
V6/V8 km/h gas with widescreen
V6/V8 mph gas without widescreen
V6/V8 mph gas with widescreen

V6/V8 km/h Diesel without widescreen
V6/V8 km/h Diesel with widescreen
V6/V8 mph Diesel without widescreen
V6/V8 mph Diesel with widescreen

S8 km/h V10 without widescreen
S8 km/h V10 widescreen
S8 mph V10 without widescreen
S8 mph V10 widescreen

The question is, are the ACC speedo-leds ready available in the faclift clusters, and is there also a separate version for lane-assistant cars (this has only a led in it, so i suppose not, lane assistant is NOT standard in facelift, seen many without it, approx 50% have it...)?

So I'm 100% sure there are ATLEAST 24 different cluster versions, nice to find the correct one USED on e-bay. That is why I'm asking around for it here.

I shall start to investigate this myself... have to check out a facelift A8 someday here in finland... totally 3 or 4 for sale here
