Very interesting article! My feeling is that the people who can afford
expensive cars like that are probably influential enough to lobby for an exemption (many are the lawmakers themselves), or pay the higher fine-inflated price for these vehicles. The consumer already pays a gas guzzlers tax for these cars, it will simply be part of the purchase price in the future. I don't think its the end of the gas guzzling sports/luxury car but these cars will likely become even more unaffordable and less available in the U.S. market in the future.
