What year is it? It might just be a brittle hose or connection if it’s an older model D3. My ‘98 A6 had a bad reservoir, but I haven’t experienced this on my A8 and I don’t recall seeing any posts recently. Use the “advanced” search function on this site (and search under the D3 models) to find out how to track the leak. Good luck.

Not related in all likelihood. For OP, please post the year and motor of your A8, as well as general geography.

Instead, search on cowl drains, sunroof drains, and HVAC drains for damp carpet. Search on windshield washer system for that. Fill it up and look for water on ground after parking on flat dry surface to get a better sense of where a leak is there.

+1
Also, Louis brings up a good video for HVAC. Be warned, if nothing has been damaged yet, letting this go could very quickly lead to some very expensive water damage. I recommend figuring this out soon. Cleaning drains is pretty easy, so don't worry too much about doing that. Search on here for general information on how to do it, it has been posted on a lot!
