Looking for a 12V switched (keyed) power wire under dash
I am looking for a good switched (keyed) 12V wire to use as a hardwire install of a portable GPS unit. (Yes I know my car has a built in GPS however I am not impressed with it at all.) I know the electrical in these cars can be a little sensitive so I don't want to tap into anything that will throw any codes or cause any other problems. Can you please recommend a good option to tap into? If you can give me the color and location that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Can you tap into the fuse panel? That's how I did it when I added my bluetooth music gateway into my 2006, just tapped into the power there for one of the ignition-switched fuses (though I'll warn you there's only like 1 or 2 that are ignition...the rest seem to be full-time hot).

The only one I know of offhand is the terminal 75 relay (J680).
It's in position 6 of the panel behind the left side of the dash.
Position 2 of the relay socket should be switched.
That's where a coolbox (refrigerator) would normally be spliced in.
