Maybe Model D better? Model S DNF. Quattro rolls on...

Reminds me of earlier years and the occasional snow fall here along the Gulf Coast. When all others were seeking shelter, I was seeking open parking lots! And I got there and back without a worry.
Love the Quattro!

I think all credits go to the driver. With two motors, one for each rear wheel, it should be best possible limited slip differential. Torque wise, it is lower than W12's torque in the first gear and electric motors are better controlled than internal combustion engines. So it must be driver. Or some hard liquor.
But I still do not like that car.

Only one motor...
Only one motor on RWD, available in various power levels. D = dual motor = AWD. Was supposed to ship this month, but now pushed out to February in theory. Presumably across an open diff and/or sub par EBD set up (if any) given the situation.
And yes, two motors with electrical control per end would be good, but that' isn't this set up. Can be found in the current Lexus RX Hybrid as one. I suspect you will see Audi moving to some kind of hybrid electric on one end (rear) to get a bunch of weight out and increase packaging efficiency, but may be a while still. The Q7 announcements are starting to discuss a plug in hybrid TDI, probably another step in similar fashion; was also mentioned in some plug in form for the D5. Probably still conventional mechanical quattro set ups in pending generation changes, but I can sense the change will be coming.

By electronics module you mean inverter.. DC batteries -> AC motor.
Not sure why all the Tesla hate on here, especially after all the transmission hooting, squeaky suspension, blown compressor motors, removing the engine for a stupid coolant pipe or O2 sensor, broken MMI gears...!? Don't get me wrong, I love my A8, but I cannot wait to get rid of my internal combustion engine and all the Rube Goldberg crap in the engine bay.
I wonder if the Model S air suspension will fare better over time? And when they come out with the Model SL, or S wagon, I will be all over it (when it depreciates down to $20k)!
