MMI 2g Analog TV Tuner Retrofit
MY OLD THREAD ---> https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...mi-2g-2981661/
Hey guys! I finally found a working Tuner for my A8! So let`s get right into it:
To get the tuner working you will need to update your MMI version to:
5570 (For Europe)
4610 (For USA)
I haven`t included in the tutorial the FBAS (video) connection! (Cause i need to buy that cable)
So for now i`m just gonna use the tuner to stream music through it.
If you want to use the video output of the TV Tuner make sure your Interface box is with A at the end. It should be 4E0 035 729A.
To check if your Interface box is with A at the end open your glove box and remove the storage compartment
next to the CD Changer by pulling it:
(Excuse my flip flops plz )
Now check if the module at the end of the box has the green connector (you can kind of see it):
So now moving on to the TV Tuner!
I used Louis`s website to help me install it. -> https://www.dognmonkey.com/audi/how-...di-mmi-2g.html
Before doing anything make Sure to remove the power fuse for the Navigation DvD! (If you are gonna use it like me)
(I took the picture after i removed the fuse):
Now you are safe to work on making your own power wires for the tuner!
I used some wires from the front panel of an old computer.
Connect the power wires to the tuner using this scheme:
First 3 pins are for the power.
The wires connected to the Tuner (the orange wire is not used):
The wires connected to the Navigation power plug (the orange wire is not used):
Connecting the optical connector:
Everything plugged in:
Now we have to add the TV Tuner to the CAN Gateway Installation List!
Plug in your VAG-Com cable and connect to module 19 CAN Gateway.
Click on Installation List and scroll down to 57 TV Tuner and tick it!
Click on Save Coding and you are done!
Click on Media then Source and you should see your TV Tuner inputs all working!
If you want your video input to work you are gonna have to get a FARKA type E cable and
wire it up from the interface box behind the glove box to the trunk where the TV Tuner is!

I do not have a an audi , i have a superb III and i'm trying to do this retrofit but without success.
I'm sure i have all the cables well conected my tuner is 8v0919191C its a 12 pin tuner.
Does the tuner when powered blinks red ? Mine does nothing (it does not have fan like yours) im sure i have power. I only have obd11 and in the gateway installation list 57 tv tuner does not appear for me to enable. I'm at a lost can you guys help me please ?

Skoda Superb III and Audi A8 D3 have about as much in common as chalk and cheese.
Go ask your question on a Skoda or VW golf forum.

Superb III uses the MIB based infotainment system.
There are no common or compatible infotainment parts,
