W12 coolant trivia...
from the initial work you mention. For after you wipe the smile off your face that it. That will be a while no doubt!
Do you know which coolant they used, by part # on the invoice maybe? In particular, is it the newest ++ stuff, which it should be for the W12--should have silicates. Has to do with an obscure VR6 (and thus W12) head erosion issue from years gone by, plus apparently helps heater core on at least the first few years of the model run. The Audi parts listing apparently call this out, so they likely got it right.
The prior G12+ stuff used in first several years of D3's didn't have silicates; hence the question. G12++ superseded it though. They now have a gallon type jug for a lot less than the 1.5L bottles of G12++, but specific to the W12 there is a bit of debate on what's in the gallon jug exactly. It's marked as having silicates on the chemical part of the label, but doesn't show up as applying to the W12 in the Audi parts system, at least as of several months back now when I bought enough to flush mine and the parts manager at Sunset (audiusaparts) looked at it carefully. Still need to do that change, though mine was changed at year 3 or 4 when the radiator got replaced under warranty for a tiny crack so I'm not in a big rush.

Had the bluetooth module replaced today. All is working great, and the bluetooth works fine with 41.4. By the way, the AMI was a PAIN to remove from my old A8, mainly getting the cd player out, the AMI was okay but the CD player I had to rip out basically.
As for part number of the coolant: G-012-A8G-1G
"performed BG coolant flush completed"

It's going to be a quick trip. Fly in Sat morning and fly out Sun evening. My brother-in-law is from Detroit so I won't even have time to really visit with anyone. I will let you know when I visit for a longer period.

Coolant + AMI removal
Thus, they used the gallon jug--where it says "1G" at the end of the part #. Hopefully at least two of them. Label says silicates, but at least Sunset couldn't validate it as equivalent to the G12++ in the 1.5L bottles for the W12 application. G12++ is a spec by definition though, so if it has silicates that should be it given Audi branding and that G12+ quietly went away. They just dont make it clear on the gallon bottle like they do on the smaller ones, which is annoying. ecs site has a bunch of pics of the labeling, if you even care: http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-D3_A8-...ine/ES1878309/
Yeah, been there, removed that w/ AMI--I eventually reversed the AMI and CD to get old iPod touch I use closer to drivers side for plugging/unplugging. Did you use the Blaupunkt/DIN cheap puller type tools in the little slots, or just manhandle? Not easy either way really.

Used the little silver prongs. Had to bend the side of one to get enough room to pull it. Anyone mind describing how to exit paddle shifter mode besides moving the shift **** to the right to tiptronic mode and then back?

As Mishar says. It should also just return to normal shifting when starting up from a stop. It will hold the lower gear on a decel downshift/engine braking from experience.
On S for what its worth, you may notice on the W12 it has so much torque I hardly find a use for it. Seems to be eager and willing in plain old D and still gets the downshifts quickly when appropriate. S shifts seem a bit harsher without a lot of purpose in the W12. Basically just holds one gear lower than D, but W12 torque kind of makes that redundant.

BTW, as a 2007 do you...
have the extra speedo digital read out in the center display available (by toggling thru like for the trip computer, adaptive cruise, etc. displays below the right hand stalk), or was that only in 2008+? I thought I remember a post where it turned up in 2007. Not on my 2006 though.
