EBC are good? They look nice, no noise? I may have to do it soon. LED license plate is nice. Your car look awesome...

The floor has led lights on my A8 like the Q7.

Cheers,

Louis

Default My turn for brakes.....

Brozee, are these the ones you purchased ?

What do you all think of me using said linked pads on OEM rotors that have gone through one set of OEM pads, should I cut the rotors ?

I have no pulse, vibration, or any problems, just pad warning, and I always like to clean up the rotors, but my Buddy says leave them alone.

Your friend is right. Only thing you may want to do, if you have free access to a lathe, is to remove those little lips at the outer and inside rotor diameter. Even that only for aesthetics.

And buy them off amazon. Free shipping. ECS has terrible shipping rates.

Thank You Brozee,
But Amazon with free 5-8 day shipping comes to $207.37 for front and rear, or $207.37 plus $22.87 for second day for a total of $230.24 Vs ECS at $164.99 front and rear and $17.73 for second day air, for a total of $182.72, even with amazon's free shipping ECS is still more cost effective, Am I missing something here ?

Hey John, you don't have to resurface the rotors but I would put a non directional finish to reduce break in time. That is what I do to my cross drilled rotors. It so easy when you have access to shop equipment.

Brozee is right historically that ECS shipping rates are high, while if you have Amazon Prime, lots of shipping is free. But as you say, it depends on the bottom line. I also think ECS lowered its shipping costs some from a promotion or other blurb I remember fairly recently; I guess they got the message they were out of line and getting a bad rep. for it.

Since Amazon now charges sales tax in CA, I always look at their other sellers listed now too, many of whom don't or may be priced less. EBC stuff seems to be sold on a list price type concept, so discounts are modest and indeed it's often shipping or tax that nets to the best deal.
