Default Need to replace CD Changer needing help...

When I purchased my 2004 Audi A8L the CD changer makes a static noise the whole time I play a CD. It didn't bother me before but now I need to update my MMI to the newest 4610 version so I want to make sure the bad CD Changer won't effect my update and ruin my MMI unit. I am looking to replace the CD Changer and wanted to know what the correct part number was. I've done some research and from what I can tell it looks like the correct part number is 4E0 035 111 A can anyone confirm if that is correct? Also if it is correct and I buy a used one will it just a plug and play or will the component protection kick in? Thanks!

CD changer has Component Protection. It must be removed at a dealer. Newer ones can play MP3. Part number: 4E0 057 110 L. Have you tried to clean your lens and check connection before replacing it?

Default CD is dead - CD players are being obsoleted!!!

If you're going to spend a few hundred bucks to get a new CD player - I recommend an AMI and a bad battery ipod - The cost may be the same or less, but it is more reliable than the moving CDs inside the changers.

Cheers,

Louis

Except he won't be able to update his MMI with that.

EDIT: Which in many cases is required for AMI support.

Right that is actually my final goal to get the AMI but I have to do the update first to be able to do that.

If I purchased a used 4E0 057 110 L would it work with my system and since it was used would it still have the CP?

I'm also seeing in other places that a 8E0 035 111 D might also work, does anyone know for sure? It's so confusing...

It has Component Protection. You must go to a dealer to remove it.

Just an FYI received the CD Changer today and it did fix my problem however the component protection did kick in so will have to make a trip to the dealer. Thanks for your help!
