Need to replace CD Changer needing help...

what happened when the CP kicked in? You can't play the CD changer? or the car just won't run? I've changed a whole bunch of stuff and I don't know if I have CP since everything works.

When I added a second CD player (with mp3 - part no. ends 110), the CP made it skip every second. 1 second of sound.....1 second silent......1 second of sound.....1 second silent......and so on.
The dealer was a bit funny about doing it at first, but once I penetrated the front-of-house staff and got to someone from the back who understood my request, it was cleared for about £45.

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove component protection with VCDS?
I installed new CD changer (4E0 035 111) and it plays with 1 second music and 1 second silence......

Correct--cannot be done with VCDS and normally it is dealer only. Once in a while someone posts about being able to get it done remotely from someone in Europe. You will have to search the web for that--no personal knowledge.
