Replaced crankshaft position sensor
Tried replacing the sensor as the vcds showed. It still is having a hard time cranking. So far new pumps, filter, cps, spark plugs. Weather has been crap here recently but i will do another scan soon. I dont know what next. I looked at my timing belt and it seems fine. When i turn the car on my rpm guage doesnt move. As im cranking the rpm guage will jump ever so slightly. The guage doesnt do much more than a slight bump

Frankly amazing. What is the problem with the repeated ether suggestion??????????????? Right there yet again in first ten words of GG's latest reply. So basic, and neither of us were born yesterday diagnostics wise.
Frustrating to spend my time on it if it just gets blown off. Please get on with it.

Help
Ok so i got the vehicle towed to a local monro. After 2 days he said he couldnt narrow it down with his equipment. I am looking to send it to a european specialist. They are all booked 2 weeks out. In the meantime i will be towing it home. I called a local import specialist who said it is more than likely the timing slipped. He said ima need a new timing belt and might as well do tensioner, damper, water pump, thermostat, and everything else in there. 600-1500. Repair. He based that on the information given and is strongly adament about it without even seeing it. Idk

Hello Orlando,
Please tell us what happened when you gave the engine a shot of ether, also what happened to posting a full scan, being that you have cranked it so many times prior to the plug change, were the old sparkplugs wet with fuel when you pulled them, as they look pretty damn good in your picture, have you pulled any of the new sparkplugs after cranking to check for fuel, have you done a compression test on all 8 cylinders, did you ever pull one coil out and place a sparkplug in and ground the threads of said plug with a jumper wire to the body for ground, do not do this to often as you could burn out the coil, BTDT, what about as in my last response in reference to the bad CAT ?

Quote #1 "Yes given the new situation i will do that. I have been nervous about how funny this vehicle treats everything. I will buy starting spray when i vcds it again. I hear something about pressing the brake starts the diagnostics. I will report back with anything that i come up with. I have been having issues with returning and my battery is dead. I have attempted cranking it a bunch but it seems to lose charge when the vehicle is left unlocked. And my interior shifter lights stay on for a noticeable amount of time now. Im not sure if this information is relevant. Also the rpm guage doesnt move when i put the key in the on position. When i attempt cranking it budges slightly. I am trying to include everything. Still dont know what the thin red wire goes to thats attached to the positive side of the battery i think its common. If not i will trace it. Last time driven was over a month!!! I may have to bring it to a local shop. I hear things like it may need coding? Ews or something like that which is directly influenced by cps and battery."

Thanks, i do not wanna force start what refuses to start, im concerned with piston slap and valve damage that forcing ether and allowing a bad timing vehicle to run can cause. I found a shop called East Coast Auto Source who specialize in audi bmw benz bentley jaguar and all the other big ones; they quoted me 30 dollars an hour for ANY vehicle repair. The sales rep George explained to me that this can be done significantly cheaper than what audi quoted. they specialize in flood damage salvage repair. So anybody in the Virginia area who have expensive problems can go to this guy!!

BTW they claim to have made the vehicle start at audi. so i assume they used ether. or some sort of solution. they said it ran terribly. had multiple cylinder misfires and low compression.

UPDATE!!!!
ok so after months of waiting, im finally getting my car back however....its not fixed yet. Allow me to begin, first to summarize what has happened thusfar; my car would crank but it would refuse to actually start and idle. I began with tossing more money into my audi than a high class prostitute. First the fuel pump, then the fuel filter, then the spark plugs. But somehow the audi seem un-phased at my mediocre attempts of rectifying this situation. So figuring id outsmart it, i replaced the crankshaft position sensor; and behold....Nothing. With the addition of a dead battery, this problem seemed too cunning for me to handle alone i and decided shipping it to some friends. My buddy whose the Monro muffler general manager had it for about a whole week before finally admitting defeat. Even the audi dealership left me with a 6500 dollar diagnostic and repair charge. This leaves me with the vehicle being parked in my driveway, un-repaired. Figuring it must be the timing belt due to the loss of compression at each cylinder and the the rpm guage not moving even after the CPS swap, i must unbolt the top of the timing belt cover, and see if i can tell if its at TDC. hopefully i can see this without removing the entire front end. Funny story, the tow guy, tow guy number 5 to be exact attempted shipping my car from audi to an indie and with my front suspension already low due to a simple forgot to change the suspension settings while i had it on a jack" that in combination with his impetuous attitude, caused him to drag my front end; damaging my drivers side air conditioner lines, driver fog light, and the entire bumper beneath the fog light beyond a simple popping back in place. He obviously offered to repair my front end. Less than a week later i received a call thoroughly explaining the repair procedure cost; and to notify me that my vehicle is completed and will be delivered to my front door or place of choice. What a tedious endeavor to not find any new information. However i did manage to score a new front end since my last one didn't look super immaculate. Now im stuck doing a timing service myself on my side-street becoming a literal representation of the shade tree mechanic i really am.
