I’m going to replace the bad wires up front first I guess as that’s an obvious problem. If that doesn’t fix it I’ll be back looking for help. It’s frustrating to say the least. I can’t get the car inspected in Vermont because it is a brake related fault. The Audi dealer told me “it’s a wiring problem and a time and material job” in other words get your wallet out.

Yeah, I replaced my EPB module myself with a used one and coded it. Really simple job. Those dealer labor numbers are obscene.

@sean59

See my thread here for some info and similar troubleshooting (Passenger front ABS sensor was the issue) https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...2961445/page2/

Do a couple things before replacing anything. Check continuity between the wheel sensor wires and the ABS unit (easier to do before repairing the wiring). If you need a wiring diagram message me. If that is good, then swap the driver front wheel speed sensor and rear passenger. they are the same sensors. See if the issue follows the sensor. if wiring is good and issue does not follow sensor issue is in the module.

Then rebuild the ABS module. if you have an 04 I have an extra module what part number is yours? the 04 did not work in my 05, different parts.

Good luck.

I had to go another 6-8" down the loom from this photo. Appears I did not take anymore as I was PISSED.

Hey CU52, I have had this problem for a year now and it bugs the **** out of me. This is my trouble code.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 4E0-910-517.lbl
Part No SW: 4E0 910 517 B HW: 4E0 614 517 BC
Component: ESP 5.7 allrad H44 0510
Coding: 0008597
Shop #: WSC 02313 000 00000
VCID: 224C31CAFD54B15AEB-8076
1 Fault Found
00276 - ABS Outlet Valve; Rear Left (N136)
000 - -

I'm assuming its a faulty wire somewhere. I had the module rebuilt last year. I also changed the brake switch and the wheel speed sensors. I ordered the online manual but I don't seem to understand how to read it. In the service manual, I search for N136 and I come up w the picture attached from the manual. Im assuming this is at the module connector but I can't seem to decipher the page and how to tell which wire is which for the outlet valve. I also attached a picture of the connector from both sides it that helps.

What pins would the rear left outlet valve be?

I would think that the issue might be the actual pump of the ABS system. The ABS electronic portion you had repaired is the brain. That controls the pump / valves that are the block next to the module with all the brake fluid lines. Possible that the system is trying to open or close the valve and cannot. I would think there is a way to test that with VCDS but it is beyond my knowledge.
