I'm picking up my new A8L tomorrow and I'm going to be ordering some winter wheels/tires from tire rack on Monday. I live in Alaska, so I think I'll be getting the 17inch wheels with WinterSport M3 tires, but I was wondering if the car will look funny with 17's on it. Does anyone have pics of a 17in. set-up they could post?

I bought my car stock with 17's so I could mount winter tires on those and put my own 20's on it. When it arrived, I was surprised how basically okay it looked with the 17's. Made me question my $5500 wheel/tire purchase. Remember too, if you don't want your tire pressure monitor light to be on constantly on the mini-MMI screen (blocking out other screen info), you have to buy sensors for the new wheels, about a $200-300 purchase. As an alternative, I guess you can remove the sensors from your summer wheels, but that means a lot of mounting and dismounting tires.

I saw TireRack's website asks about whether the car has a tire pressure monitoring system. Does this mean TireRack can add the sensor to the wheel or do I have to order the sensors from the dealer?

I think the package I'm going to get is the 17in AT Italia 9 Razze in Bright Silver Paint w/ Dunlop WinterSport M3's.

Don't order the sensors from the dealer. They cost a fortune. I think Tire Rack has them for about $75 apiece, or so
