programmable TPMS sensors?
I ordered the Autel universal sensors and I was wondering if it's anything that can be messed up on the car TPMS by the tire shop when programming these.
The tires are not mounted on the car and my plan was to just have them installed and set up by the shop and later I will use the change wheels option to have the car recognize them.
They told me they need the car to be there in case they have to force the TPMS to sync them.
Maybe I should just find one that does not need programming.

Just press the following buttons:
CAR > (Click on Tire Pressure Monitoring) > Store Current Tire Pressure > Done

I would have passed on the programmable sensors and just gotten the 433 to start with. Since, you'll need to program the sensor once they are mounted via the Autel tool. Does the tire shop you are using even have that tool?

So from their perspective they want to ensure that when the mount your wheels and your car leaves their shop everything is functioning as per design. Vs you coming back if they haven't tested everything on the car and taking up more cycles in their shop. TBH, if they've programmed them as 433 and set the tire pressure for all tires as the same, then you should be good.

I just installed 4 new sensors. I clicked "change wheels" in MMI but no pressure or temps display. After a good while of driving I get a TPMS error on the dash. So I need to select "store current tire pressure"? I'll give that a shot.

That's not going to do it probably.Did you have yours programmed?
Mine were the dual 315/433 and after the tire shop programmed them I just used change wheels and they worked.
