Default Repair or Replace ...

This week I noticed my drivers side front tire losing pressure on the first overnight below 32 degrees up hear in the northeast. I though nothing of it and took the oportunity to bring up all the tire pressures for the winter season.

The next day my TPS told me the same drivers front tire's pressure was low again but no issue with the other three tires. When I finally got it to my local tire dealer to check for a nail or tire damage when he showed me a hairline crack on the inside of the rim was the cause of the tire air leak. He told me that he could have the crack fixed and the Rim refinised for 450.

I decided to put my 18inch RS6 replica winter boots on and get the wheel fixed/refinished and the other 3 wheels refinished, then I found out my 18inch RS6 replica dont fit the over the front brakes/calipers....arrrghh.

Now comes the decison, do I purchase a new wheel I found on the web 490 shipped or pay 450 to get my wheel repaired?

I assume the $450 covers repairing the cracked wheel and refinishing the other wheels? We have had hundreds of repairs done by our local wheel repair shops and have never had an issue with a repair. I would repair and refinish the other wheels.

Why don't you buy four brand new OEM wheels for $700 plus shipping?

I have changed my CL rims with a 20" package, one of the originals had a crack exactly like yours, a shop did repair (welded) the rim for $60 then installed the tire and ckeck it for leaks, no problems. If they can fix your crack and refinished all of them fo $450 I would go for it,ussually is $150 per wheel to refinish....

When I look at the wheels diagram at Audiusaparts, the wheels on my car are #7 on the second one. But there is no listing for number seven.
I was hoping you had a source for a set of OEM wheels for 700.00 plus shipping. My kids do not the my wheels. They think these are too plain.
Black chrome would look nice. It would go well with the white body.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, Ive been pretty busy with the holiday season and work.

If anyone is interested, I went ahead with just the wheel repair only and will look to get an replacement in the spring and turn the "fixed" wheel into a full size spare.

Have a set of same wheels from same car - ready for shipment or pickup in LA.

Merry X-mas!

Looking at the 2005 a-8 listing, but none are 4H0-601-025-AG. Several are 10 spokes.
Is this one of the wheels pictured?
