Default Right choice to avoid the DRA'S in 20 mm anyway...

the 20mm DRA's also have a problem with the "new style" RS4 wheels in the 20's, at least on mine. BTDT. The hub face of the inner wheel center was machined just a bit thinner than the old style RS4 nine spoke OEM wheels, the result of which is the OEM lug bolts end up bottoming on the brake rotor and the wheel is not 100% tight. Thus, right choice to go with the DR's. At 12 front, 20 rear you ended up at the same place I am at. Nice set up.

MP4.2+6.0, thanks for the info in the other thread. Would you mind sharing (if you have the info accessible) what the model numbers of your DRs were (2455571 for the 12mm and 4055571 for the 20mm?), and which lug bolts you purchased (or which you would recommend?) I have the 20" split 5 spokes in the link below; they should be 9" with an offset of 45, so I am planning to get the same setup that you have - as they look great on your car. It sounds like my setup on an 08 S8 should net me the same aesthetics without having to rely on guesswork/trial and error. Anything else I should be thinking about as far as differences (dimensions/hub sizing) between the W12 and S8?

Any recommended retailer for the spacers/lug bolts well? Thanks again.

Thought that might have been the case but wasn't sure.

I can't remember which online vendor I bought them from but vendor might be mentioned in the threads I linked in the original post. I'll check the H&R boxes to see if they are labeled or if I have the invoice/receipt inside and post any model #'s I see. The models numbers might be visible on the spacers themselves as well so I'll take a look.

I don't know for certain but I'm pretty sure the wheels on my car and the 2008+ D3 S8 wheels are a very close if not exact match as far a spacing. There is a 2008 S8 owner on this forum that swapped out his S8 wheels for the 2007+ D3 sport package wheels that I have on my car.

Default Should be "new style" RS4 design, aka "twin sevens"

Sold as the "sport" package 20" wheels circa 2007 and later, and found more commonly on (uncommon) W12's. The wheel is OEM, 20 x 9 and forged. Named because of the design found on the RS4's, though those in OEM are 19 x 9, not forged and w/ a more aggressive offset given the RS4 fender flares.. The factory finish on these is gray painted on the interior, and polished on the spokes and face generally. Very nicely detailed. In the A8's, there was also a polished interior barrel option for these circa 2009. Rare and was big bucks as an option.

There are replica's sold too, though not forged, usually not 9" wide, and generally in smaller diameters. These wheels (in OEM) were rated for the W12 torque and weight wise.

Any reason why you didn't go with 20mm spacers up front as well?

Never mind - I read the links you provided - DOH!

Just ordered 2 sets of 20mm but am now changing to 12mm up front as I have 20" wheels.

Thanks for the info, sorry I didn't read it first time!
