Default Should I give up on finding a SWB 2005 A8 - Convince me please!

So I have been searching and searching for a SWB A8 with the options and colors I want. But there are so few to choose from at good prices, while at the same time I keep bumping into perfect A8L for low prices with everything I want.

Has anyone ever driven both for extended periods? How do they handle respectively? Acceleration? and what about finding parking? How much of a difference do those extra inches really make?

Any insight would be greatly appreciate it. Hoping to sell my 2000 A6 2.7T really soon and move on up to the incredible A8.

Default I prefer the look of the A8L, and I really love the big bass mouth on the newer A8's

at 6ft 4inch, back seat space in the A8L is astounding, although I find the back seats lack abit of thigh support. Good luck with your choice

Default No ... I think you should keep looking

No ... I think you should keep looking. I just acquired my 2005 SWB last month. It is a truly amazing car. I drove several A8L's and they drove very differently. The SWB is much more refined on the road and seems tighter and quieter. All of the A8L's were fine cars, it is just a difference in the driving experience that is hard to explain and describe. My guess is more of them will be coming off leases as the fall approaches and you should at least try one to see which length you prefer.

Default I'm not sure I agree...

I have a 2005 SWB and have been driving my boss's 2006 LWB, and honestly, I can't tell much difference in the way they drive. I drove both on the same roads, in the same manner, and can tell little difference in handling or manners.

I like the SWB because I think it looks better proportioned, but not because it handles better or rides that much differently.

Default I wouldn't swap my SWB for anything else... well maybe somethings, but not an A8L

It's a good job we are all different I guess LOL
