Default Some VCDS foults

Hi, first post.
Bought an 2006 A8. Found some faults, cleared them, and they came back immeaditly.

In my MMI the airsuspension settings are also gone. Maybe the first fault and missing settings are connected?

Welcome!

Go to the address 07 and code it following Ross-Tech instructions (clouds).

HVAC faults are common to almost all four zone cars. Just live with it.

Check your rear brake pads. They are either worn and should be replaced, or where not properly coded and should be recoded.

Check for the thin red wire attached directly to the plus terminal of the battery.

Check address 34, Level Control. If coding or adaptation are not properly performed your suspension levels would be dimmed. That should be another separate faulty code.

Thank you for your answer.
While changing rims at the back, checked pads and discs, they are in very good condition. I think the wire socked near brake disk is corroded. I will look into it.

The thin red wire was broken off. I fixed it and managed to get rid of battery and one engine mount faults. Thank you for that.

My suspension levels are visible and working, still need to look into the coding.

Those wires could be corroded, but if your parking brake works and you don't have code for wiring that is not your problem.

When replacing rear pads one have to code in thickness of the new pads. That's how computer calculates pads life. It looks like somebody forgot to do so or put low value in. Now, based on that computer "thinks" that pads are at the end of their life. Try to recode pad thickness.

Connections were ok behind the rear brake disks. Disks and pads are ok also. During the auto-scan it gives me the parking brake malfunktion error. But it disappears immeaditly and parking brake itself works fine. Bad thickenss is stored 11.
Any ideas? What is the normal voltage?

I managed to recode the control head.

I have left:

Default +1 on Mishar's direction on brakes...add another part

I have had this code before, fairly persistently, after doing a rear brake pad swap supposedly per all the coding directions. I eventually cleared it only by basically "starting over" and running the whole pad sequence again, as though I was doing the actual pad install.

In particular, I didn't just re-set the pad thickness back to "11"--which on mine didn't hold the setting either when I rechecked it later. I also opened the brakes completely via the VAG COM procedure, just like I was going to change the pads. Then I closed them again immediately and confirmed the thickness at the correct step. That did finally cleared the code.

How did you end up solving the above error to recode the control head?

I just upgraded from 1190 to 4610 in the MMI software, and all went well except I'm getting the exact same above error in the '07-Control Head' module (00003 - Control Module, 005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation).

Haven't been able to figure out how/what to set in VCDS to make this go away. Any tips?

Disregard...I actually had to run the 1st MMI update disk for 4610 again (a second time), and once I did that not only did my Bluetooth come back (it wasn't working) but the Control Head error is gone.

So I think I'm all set!

I followed the "bubbles" mine was coded wrong. Some extras were not included.

I have same code 02255 and don't have a thin red wire connected to my battery. Where does the red wire connect to from the battery?
