Hi I also have lift and dynamic greyed out with amber warning on dash, suspension has gone rock hard but does not leak even if the battery has been disconnected whatever the fault is below it will not clear.
I checked the fuse and relay with a meter and appear fine I will replace them though but if anyone has any thoughts would love to hear them thanks in advance 2005 A8 Address 34: Level Control Labels: 4E0-910-553.lbl

Yellow light means over inflated, according to people with this same problem, the pressure relief valve in the compressor is faulty, they replaced the compressor and everything is back to normal. This is the only time the pump needs to be replaced. If you're handy, please open it up, find the valve and see if you can fix it. Take tons of pictures if you do. If after you drove a while, turn off the ignition and lock the door and you don't hear the pressure relief valve open then...
Cheers,
Louis

Our sunday drive
Hi Louis cheers for the reply, there is quite a few posts in different forums as to where the relay and fuse is, relay 373 and fuse in behind the dash by the steering wheel, in my 1 it is for the headlight washers and that is what I tested before posting and they were working fine.
The relay and fuse for the level suspension in my car is on the passenger side between the seat and glove box as shown in this post https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...-fuse-2835590/.
The fuse was gone and there was a bare wire earthing out on front right strut so I am hoping that is what caused it to blow I must admit when it did play up I changed the suspension from dynamic to automatic and the front left wheel was over a curb and had to extend further than the rest could be a red herring.
I also believe in a case of what you mention cause the amber light to flash instead of staying on, quite the collection of audis you appear to have going on and some very helpfull posts cheers

Craig,
Thanks for pointing that out, "flashing" and "steady", I'm sure there are significant differences between those. I've never noticed them doing that. Learn something new every day, yes, I hope it's the fuse for your sake, please post back what you found, with pictures please.
Cheers and good luck,
Louis

I am still having problems with my suspension when it is hot out and the car is up to temp. I have my car back now, so I can get some error codes, but I do want to have the relay in stock. What is the A8L relay 373 part number if anyone has it handy?
TIA,
Dan

Well, now I was driving on the freeway, and when I got off, I noticed that the up arrow was solid, indicating it was raising the ride height. It was in automatic, so I figured it had lowered at freeway speed and was now lifting itself back up, but over the next couple minutes, the arrow stayed solid. When I later got back in the car, it was in dynamic on startup, and putting it back into automatic resulted in the up arrow getting stuck on solid again without lifting the car until the green and yellow suspension lights came on, it returned to dynamic, and everything else grayed out. The green suspension light went away after a short time, but everything else remained unchanged. I need to check the codes, but I'm thinking that compressor rebuild may be in order and that relay replacement as well. I hope it isn't a valve block issue, but it is possible, given that the suspension seems to respond in a reasonable time when it had been working. I'll post back when I have the codes for it.

Interesting, this is the only current code. System shows 4.8 bar pressure when checked. Turning the car off and on again clears the yellow light and other suspension settings become selectable, but it quickly greys out if you try to leave dynamic.
