I tried to do a few vag-com tweaks on my '05 A8L today, but the car wouldn't respond to any of the codes except for the seat belt chime. Tried to re-code the transmission to sport setting, but it wouldn't accept it (the software kept saying something about the code being too high). Also tried to lower the car by 20mm, but no luck. It would take the new settings, but it wouldn't store them, and now the car is giving me an error about the headlight range sensor. WTF? Anyone else ever have weird issues like this? I followed the instructions on the Ross Tech site exactly.

Use this thread for the lowering...there's more involved than just changing the values. I had the same issues and had to search for this thread which works if you follow it correctly.

I asked about the transmission recode before but no one responded and I just didn't want to mess with it..

Finally had a chance to re-try the tweaks today. I'm happy to report that the procedure worked 100%.
