Update on ACC Sensor and a New Question
A quick update on the "ACC sensor blocked" problem that I posted a couple of months ago. I finally took the 2008 A8L to a dealer. They claimed that the ACC sensor was damaged due to some impact from the front. Therefore, it is not covered under warranty and it will cost $3,800 to fix it. I walked away.
Here is a new question. When I stop the engine, there is this loud "engine like" sound lingering for 1 to 2 full seconds "after" I kill the engine. This only happens about 1/3 of the time and is driving me crazy. Any wisdom/thoughts from you will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
old man tom
As for the noise, as a minimum we'd like to hear it or you'll have to trace it to a particular assembly such as the AC Compressor etc.
Maybe take a video with sound and post it to Youtube.

As far as noise, open the hood and watch the engine having somebody else to stop it. You may be able to find the gremlin yourself.
Thanks for offering your thoughts and suggestions.
After carefully monitoring this "loud noise" during the past few days (some hot days and some cool days), I have concluded that it is the fan. It is surprising that it is so loud and lasts quite a few seconds after stopping the engine.
Thank you all again.
