VCDS Ride Height Adjustment
#21
Thanks to the 22s being 25mm od oversized it actually gives great ground clearance and no issues. I rarely need to use lift to get in anywhere but yes, with these profile tyres potholes are not my friend!

Well, I played around with some numbers again today. Tried the 0011110 setting and came up with some acceptable numbers 380/359. At least I found that those would work, so wrote them down for future reference. I pushed for the 0010010 setting and the best I could get was 372/354. I don't think I can push the front down any further. It doesn't want to play nice. I have just a bit over 2 fingers worth of clearance between the tire and top of the fender. Measurments come in between 14.8 and 14.6 inches. 376/370. I noticed that the air ride level didn't seem to majorly readjust after last settings. Not 100% pleased but try try again, right?

With 00 you should have recorded values 371/353. Have you tried to punch 375/357? Or millimeter more or less? If it excepts that start Adaptation again and punch the same values.

Mishar,
The highest I could go at this time was only 1mm over the 371/353 settings. 372 would work on both sides, 373 was valid/invalid on the passenger side. It seems the more I deviate away from the set recorded values, the less the vcds would allow me to go. I'll have to drive it around some more and see what's happening. It does feel alot stiffer btw.

Where can I find the VCDS lowering instructions. I have clicked on the Link in Mishar's signature but it just brings me cak to this thread.
Also, is there any data for sensible lowering heights for a standard Audi A8 4.0l Deisel D3?

Oooops. Found the instructions on the last page.
Can I just ask then:
1. what are the recommended lowering heights for a standard Audi A8 D3 2004 4.0l Diesel.
2. Which hieghts does the lowering effect. Is it for dynamic or comfort?
Many thanks

Thanks Mishar -
Just a few points of clarification if I may:
- should the height adjustment be done when the car is in Dynamic or normal mode?
- how much additional drop happens when the car goes from normal to dynamic mode?
- should the ratio between the stock front and rear heights be maintained for aerodynamic reasons?
- are their any recommended heights that members have done and have been happy with?
Many thanks
