14 S8 4.0tt Turbo Lag
I recently purchased a 2014 S8 and just wondering if anyone else has found a good solution for the turbo lag. I absolutely love this car, and have little complaints but the turbo lag when you initially accelerate while driving conservatively drives me crazy. Has anyone found a reasonable and simple solution for this?
Thank you in advance for your input.

I don’t have any turbo lag, but I have the engine/transmission set to “dynamic “. You may want to check your setting. I love the color of your car! Mike

Given the hot V design, about as low lag as you will find, and a whole lot of power quickly for me. If you truly want no lag, too late now but there is the quasi unicorn D4 W12 that also takes big depreciation hits used. My D3 W12 was certainly, right there, right now with torque way low down in RPM's. Also maybe go into the DriveSelect settings and change them for engine & tranny.

I have a 14 S8
And I know what you mean - in “comfort mode” it’s a bit sluggish to respond to throttle and then you’ll get kind of a big rush in power eventually. As stated above try in dynamic mode and see if you have turbo lag then.

2.) As others have stated, should be very little lag on this motor due to its design. Having said that, i believe i read somewhere that on cold start and for first 5 - 10 minutes of driving, I believe the engine has a safety feature which essentially reigns in the turbos until everything has reached optimal operating temperature. Maybe this is the "lag" you are experiencing? Does it happen all the time or just within first 5 - 10 minutes of driving after car has been sitting?

What RPM should the turbo kick in? It feels kinda jerky to me, but then I've never owned a turbo bef
