2106 S8 Brake Pad warning won’t clear plus 2x cooling fan 2 warnings
Hi,
I’m in the UK and trying to get to the bottom of the brake pad warning light that will not extinguish.
I had the discs and pads replaced last year and only covered 5000 miles if that and they have been checked and all ok.
live had all 4 sensors replaced and all that happened is that the warning indication comes on immediately upon starting before that it would only appear when I turned the wheel sharply.
I have tried 2 garages so far and their OBD machines report nothing at all even when the disc pad warning is on on the dash.
the only faults I have are another question for you all and they are -
P069300 cooling fan 2 control circuit low
and
P048100 cooling fan 2 circuit control
I don’t really want to go and throw money at Audi as the last service they did they managed to cracked and break off a chunk of my front splitter and only repaired it after an extended “negotiation”.
I’d really appreciate any advice as I seem to be chasing my tail.
Kind regards,

Need new shop. OBDII scanners are worthless for checking AUDI (or VW/Skoda, etc.) codes for non- drivetrain items that basically don't affect emissions. Get a real shop that has real diagnostic equipment for real Audis. OBDII generics basically belong in the rubbish can for anything other than core motor stuff on Audis. Even then, sub par often for specific fault finding descriptions. Said another way, they don't actually reach most electronic modules in Audis or other vehicles beyond the engine computer.

Good old fashion manual diagnostics... Short the sensor on one wheel at a time until you find the offender.

That's a great idea. I'd encourage that the sensor is unplugged and a wire is used to complete the circuit. You can even drive the car with all the sensors removed, as long as the circuits are all completed. If the error goes away, you know you have a bad sensor. Simply connect one at a time to see which ones brings the error back. I did a complete brake job a few months ago and was quite surprised how brittle the wear indicator were. My intention was to reuse the rear units, but that wasn't the case.
