Audi A8 e-tron will have diesel-electric V6 setup
Looks like Audi will use the RS5 TDI concept in other models.
from the article:
Instead of using a gasoline engine, the Audi A8 e-tron will feature a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel (likely sourced from the RS5 TDI concept) working with an electric motor to provide a maximum power of 368 PS (271 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).

My S8 and the wife's S550 get about 10 mpg around town. They need constant filling up. I'd love to switch to a car with big low end torque that only needs filling up a few times a year. I'll happily spend 10 seconds every night to plug in and "top off" the battery to avoid a trip to a gas station. Combining that with diesel highway range is a winning combination for me. Throw in 516 ft/lb of torque and it all sounds pretty appealing to me for a daily driver replacement for the S550.
I'm not that "green", but hardly ever going to a gas station is a luxury that I'll gladly pay a modest premium for.

Thus a range of 856 miles/tank vs. 666 on the highway. That is huge for many people. Nevertheless there are lots of people that are far more concerned with such things as oval vs. round exhaust pipes or the ability to lower these cars by 1.2653 mm or ???
To my way of thinking getting a longer range/tank is worth real $s! Not surprisingly this "time saving" is worth more for (smart) people driving "luxury" cars!
